Despite being born in York, Abbott is a Polish youth international and started his career at LKS Lodz before being picked up by David Moyes £125,000 at the start of 2001.

But it wasnt until last season that he made his first team debut against Reading following a spell out on loan at Bury.

A strong runner and skillful attacker Abbott has shown plenty of promise in his early games for the Lilywhites and will be aiming for more first team opportunities in the coming season.
